To get broadband you need...

1.    A compatible PC.

If your PC is less than 3 years old you don't need to worry. However check with the ISP as this may change. My own PC is around 2+ years old.

2.    A Broadband ISP (Internet Service Supplier)

Companies like AOL, Freeserve, BT and Eclipse can all provide this service. Check the websites for the best prices

3.    A Broadband modem. (Also known as an ADSL modem)

You can order this from your ISP. Sometimes it comes free. Or you can pop down to PC World and buy one yourself, your not sure drop me a line and I can advise you.

4.    A BT telephone line

You should also seriously consider getting the following items of software, if you do not have them all ready - 

Anti Virus protection (I use a free one called AVG)

Firewall (I use Norton - which I bought and ZoneAlarm - which I downloaded free)

Also, when you have installed the firewall, get it checked out at Norton Security Check
