John is now back safe and sound in the hotel and will be meeting Sue his wife for a well deserved holiday for a week.  He has asked to say that he received loads of text's from you all and is very grateful for all the support and help.

John and Sue arrive back in the village on Sunday 5th October around 1130hrs if you fancy saying hello...! (I'm sure a bottle of champers will be on hand as well!!)

In the meantime have a listen to the track john has written and dedicated to his dad; Bill; who lost his struggle with Alzheimer's in 2003.

"LLANVAIR-DISCOED, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of Caldicott, county Monmouth, 5 miles S.W. of Chepstow, its post town. It is situated near the forest of Wentwood, and on the road to Usk. The parish includes the hamlet of Dinham, and the remains of Dinham Castle, now a ruin overgrown with wood. The living is a perpetual curacy annexed to the vicarage of Caerwent, in the diocese of Llandaff. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.

Here are extensive remains of Llanvair Castle, built in the 13th century, and consisting of a square and two round towers, blended with a farmhouse. Coins, urns, and other Roman remains have been found."
